Job Discription of a Stenographer/Stenotypist – How to Become a Stenographer and Get Govt. Job in Pakistan.

Upgradation of Stenotypists, Stenographers and Private Secretaries

At Last The Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani approved the summery for upgradation of stenotypists, stengraphers and private secretaries. According to this development the posts of stenotypists, stenographers and private secretaries have been upgraded as under:-

1.                  Scale of Stenotypists is upgrated from BS-12 to BS-14.

2.                  Scale of Stenographers is upgraded from BS-15 to BS-16.

3.                  Private Secretaries will remain to enjoy Basic Scale-17. However, they will be able to get BS-18 after five years satisfactory service in BS-17. Previously, this period of service was 7 years. Private Secretaries could also be promoted to BS-19 after 12 years satisfactory service as private secretary.

This action of the prime minister is in consequence to the landmark judgment of the Honourable Surpeme Court of Pakistan.
